Too Many Dead Heroes

An early great hero who died for his people
Leonidas, a Spartan
He took his 300
And held the hot gates
He died for his courage

Heroes today who die for their people
Marines give their lives
They take up their arms
And fight on dead soil
They die for their beliefs

The greatest hero who died for his people
Jesus came to redeem us
And gave out his blessings
For this he was crucified
He died for all humans

All of these heroes lost their lives
They still won in the end

That's a very inspiring poem. I like how you picked three important figures and spoke of their sacrifices. Its obvious you put care into crafting your poems and it shows in your work.

Death isn't failure, many-a-times, death is victory, your poem states that very clearly..thanks for sharing.

I love the repeating theme of sacrifice in this poem and how their ultimate sacrifice made a difference to all. It is a great tribute to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice and showcases your faith. Thanks for sharig it.
